Investing In Impact For Refugees Hope
Amal, taking care of her little sister, as her parents depend on her in helping around the house ; After nine years into the Syrian crisis, more than 11.7 million people have been displaced all over the country, many have lost all their belongings and fled with the clothes on their back. People slept on the floor and children walked barefoot, and most didn’t even have the basic items to cover their daily needs. UNHCR steps in with its mission to protect the victims and support them with food, blankets, cooking utensils and many other small items that help them survive their harrowing ordeals until the day they can, hopefully, return home. © UNHCR/Antwan Chnkdji

Leading Together for Greater Impact

In January 2019, USA for UNHCR brought together a group of next generation philanthropists and business leaders from across the U.S. in a common effort to raise awareness and support for the refugee cause. Led by Beth Turner, the Humanitarian Coalition is an exclusive alliance that brings together passion, resources and networks to empower refugees with hope and opportunity.

The first Humanitarian Coalition event took place in San Francisco, CA in October 2019. Humanitarian Coalition members organized a private event for 40 guests, helping raise more than $100,000 in support of refugees. The event featured a performance by Ahmed Badr, a former refugee from Iraq, and an exclusive screening of the film Refugee, written and directed by Brandt Andersen.
