Empowering Youth Through Education

Millions of refugee children and youth have limited access to education opportunities. Education is a fundamental human right that not only provides a safe net for refugees to recover from their experiences, but empowers them with knowledge and skills to live productive, fulfilling and independent lives.

As part of the effort to provide education to refugees, Google.org launched an employee giving campaign during the holiday season to deliver accelerated learning, school supplies and learning materials to children living in refugee camps and communities around the world. More than 4,100 Google employees generously joined the campaign, raising a total of $761,300 in support of the refugee cause. The funds raised provide critical assistance to thousands of refugee children who are out of school as a result of conflicts and wars.
